One broker for the whole move — across the border and back.
Freight into Canada and Mexico runs on paperwork as much as trucks. We line up carriers with the right cross-border authority, coordinate with customs brokers on both sides, and keep one point of contact from pickup to final delivery.
What we move
- Canada: through-trailer truckload — same truck from pickup to delivery — with carriers set up for cross-border moves
- Mexico: loads cross at major ports of entry like Laredo, El Paso, Nogales and Otay Mesa, moving through-trailer or transferred to a Mexican carrier depending on the lane
- Dry van, flatbed and specialized equipment
- Northbound and southbound, one-time or recurring
- Customs brokerage available through the Landstar network if you don't have a broker
What we need to quote it
- Origin and destination (city + postal code on both sides)
- Commodity, weight and equipment type
- Your customs broker on each side (or tell us you need one)
- Commercial invoice details and HTS codes if known
- Whether you're claiming USMCA preference
Common questions
Do I need a customs broker?
In almost every case, yes — typically one for each country. If you don't have one, we can coordinate customs brokerage through the Landstar network.
Does the same truck go all the way?
For Canada, usually yes. For Mexico it depends on the lane — many loads transfer to a Mexican carrier at the border, while some move through-trailer. We'll tell you which applies when we quote.
What slows a border crossing down?
Paperwork. Missing or mismatched invoices, HTS codes or broker info cause most delays. We confirm documents before pickup so the truck doesn't sit at the border.
Moving freight across the border?
Send lane, dates, commodity, weight and equipment. You'll get a rate and a straight answer on capacity — usually same day.
